# Modular Typography

A lettering approach built from repeated geometric units. The system is in the construction of the letters, not simply in using a grid for page layout.

## Build it
1. Define a small set of strokes or tiles.
2. Use constructed lettering for short headings.
3. Use a conventional face for reading and controls.

## Example
An exhibition identity whose title is constructed from repeatable tiles above a readable program.

## Typography
Construct a title from repeated units, then use a conventional text face below it. Show the module if construction is the subject.

## Practical consequences
- Starting projects: Portfolio, Publication. These are suggestions, not restrictions.
- Reading/layout: compact; bold visual emphasis.
- Asset work: Constructed display lettering needs intentional letterform work.
- Complexity: medium. Allow time for a coherent decorative or image layer and responsive checks.

## Limits
Forcing modular display letters into paragraphs or calling any sans-serif grid layout modular typography.

## Reading the collected reference board
Look at the repeated shapes and constructed letter parts. A grid is only the starting point: the defining question is whether the letterforms share a repeatable module.
