A Japanese aesthetic reference associated with transience, irregularity, and the character of materials. A restrained screen interpretation should not flatten that context into generic cozy branding.

## Visual family
Craft, place & natural materials. Editorial family: shared visual vocabulary, not a claim of common origin.

## Visual cues
- Material character
- Irregular detail
- Restraint

## Build it
1. Use real texture with visible variation.
2. Allow asymmetry in imagery.
3. Keep navigation and text alignment dependable.

## Example
A ceramics archive with close photographs of surfaces and concise notes about each object.

## Typography
A quiet serif or sans-serif can work. Irregular material photography supplies the character; imitation handwriting is unnecessary.

## Practical consequences
- Starting projects: Portfolio, Store, Publication. These are suggestions, not restrictions.
- Reading/layout: spacious; quiet visual emphasis.
- Asset work: Real material variation is difficult to replace with a generic texture.
- Complexity: low. Mostly standard CSS; imagery may still need preparation.

## Limits
Calling any beige interface wabi-sabi, treating kintsugi as its synonym, or simulating imperfection in functional controls.

## Reading the collected reference board
The board emphasizes quiet material imagery and restrained composition. These contemporary graphics are adjacent references; the tea-ceremony source provides more specific cultural context.

## Context
Japanese aesthetic reference. The recipe is a modern web adaptation.
