2023 — Making the process work

Work #

After roughly 18 months of hands-on provisioning, I had enough context to redesign the process end to end. I standardized the knowledge, controls, and handoffs while continuing to steward the department.

Processes people could follow #

The work was about more than a faster configuration step. It meant making the operating process repeatable: clear instructions, dependable inventory tracking, consistent checks, and handoffs that other people could follow.

Quality First Award #

I received centrexIT’s Quality First Award on March 29, 2023, for helping someone get back to work with a spare computer after theirs failed.

The beginning of automation #

I began automating within the provisioning role in 2023. The process work came first; automation followed the parts that had become stable and repeatable.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max eventually felt like a return to form: lighter in my hand, a finish I liked, USB-C, and Natural Titanium. I liked it a lot. In hindsight, I should have kept it rather than moving straight to the next model.
